'Lalu's wish has come true', Amit Shah brings out old speech regarding Wakf Bill

During the discussion on the Wakf Bill in the Lok Sabha, Amit Shah took a dig at RJD. He presented an old speech of Lalu Yadav in the House, in which the RJD supremo had supported taking strict action against the Wakf Board.

New Delhi: During the discussion on the Waqf Bill in the Lok Sabha, Union Home Minister Amit Shah presented an old speech of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav. Amit Shah quipped that the wish of Lalu which Congress could not fulfill, has now been fulfilled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that Lalu had raised the issue of land occupation by the Waqf Board during the UPA government. Now the same RJD is opposing this bill. Amit Shah also shared a video on this issue, in which Lalu was accusing the Waqf Board of usurping both government and private lands.

Lalu Prasad had made allegations against the Waqf Board 

Amit Shah said that in 2013 Lalu Prasad had levelled allegations against the Waqf Board that the Waqf Board officials had sold prime land in Patna. He had also said that all the dak bungalow properties in Patna had been sold and apartments had been built there. Lalu had then said that strict laws should be made in such cases so that the culprits can be punished quickly. 

 Attempts to control constitutional institutions

At the same time, RJD has opposed this Waqf Amendment Bill. Party MP Sudhakar Singh called it against constitutional values ​​and accused BJP of trying to control constitutional institutions.
